Nomads

Estoy de nuevo en Bali. Escribo estas líneas rodeada de flores de mil colores, geckos y lagartijas de todo tipo, olor a campos de arroz y en paz conmigo misma. Escaparme a Asia se ha convertido en mi terapia, un punto de equilibrio que necesitaba. Aquí todo es distinto: el ritmo, el clima, las religiones, los modos de ver y vivir la vida.
Trabajar como freelance te permite cierta libertad de movimiento, de gestión y organización. Si tu ordenador (bendito Macbook) es tu oficina, poco importa desde dónde lo utilizas, y eso ha creado un nuevo concepto de trabajo, y una nueva forma de vivir tu vida. Dicho concepto tiene un nombre: los Nomads.
Las nuevas generaciones laborales tienen herramientas que no existían hace años, formas de comunicar y de transmitir que son nuevas y que permiten moverse por el mundo entero. Y mucha gente las usa para trabajar desde cualquier parte del mundo, sin necesidad de atarse geográficamente ni de poner demasiadas barreras a sus movimientos.
Pruebo esta forma de vida ahora y, aunque crea que tiene todavía algunas limitaciones, me hace muy feliz probarla de vez en cuando.
Volveré a España en diciembre (creo), y, mientras tanto, os iré contando andanzas por el sudeste asiático, entre mail y mail, página y página…y algunos baños y momentos insuperables.

I’m back in Bali. I write these lines surrounded by colorful flowers, geckos and lizards of all kinds, the smell of rice fields and feeling in peace with myself. Escaping to Asia has become my therapy, a balance I needed to find. Here everything is different: the rhythm, the weather, the religions, the ways of seeing, enjoying and living your own life.
Freelancing allows you some freedom of movement, management and organization.If your computer is your office, no matter where you use it from, everything is different. That fact has created a new working concept and a new way to live your life. This concept has a name: Nomads.
The new labor generations have tools that did not exist years ago, communication tools and behaviors that are new and allow people to move around the world easily. Many people use them to work from anywhere in the world, without being forced to stay in one single spot or country and erasing barriers.
I am testing this way of life now, even if I believe that it has still some limitations. I will return to Spain in December, probably, and, in the meanwhile, I’ll try to report my adventures around Southeast Asia over here, between mail and mail, pages and pages, … and some sunbathes, adventures and moments I will remember for the rest of my life.
